Work Culture and Why I Have Fuzzy Slippers Under My Desk
I’m going to switch it up a little bit and write a blog post that isn’t necessarily on an industry-specific topic. Rather, I want to write about something I think is very important, period…regardless of what industry you’re in.
I really hope that each person who reads this wakes up every day excited to go to work and truly loves what they do in their career; however, I know that, unfortunately, that’s not the case. Sadly, there are so many folks out there that just hate their jobs, dreading to go into the office and just trying to make it through the day.
I was always told from an early age to never settle and to do what makes me happy. At the time, I was totally cool with not settling for a small popcorn when I wanted a large and hanging out with my friends on the weekends. Later on, I tried to apply this practice to other parts of my life. So when it came to job hunting post-college, it was a struggle. I wanted to be somewhere that was fun, professional, successful and seemed like an overall joy to be a part of.
Fast forward several years and several jobs and now we are at present day. And here’s where I’m going to be prideful and talk about Asen. Overall, it’s a great place to be. And no, it’s not just because there is a surplus of snacks and drinks in our kitchen (although, that’s a major perk!). It’s about the employees to the location, and everything in between. I am thankful that everyone laughs at my lame jokes and doesn’t make fun of me for turning my space heater on at my desk as soon as I sit down. We have Nerf guns for when one of us acts a fool, and we even have an office cat!
Having a great work culture and work environment is one of the keys to success in any business. When employees love coming to work and are happy, productivity thrives, people feed off positive energy and it makes for a great place to work and do business with. I’m happy to be at a place that takes work culture seriously and strives to continue to have an awesome work environment. Our employees genuinely love what they do. We enjoy taking on projects and clients and building relationships. This makes our partnerships strong and working together as a team so enjoyable.
