Mamita’s Ices FROM BODEGAS TO BEYOND

Based in Queens, New York, Mamita’s Ices provides unique tropical and island-inspired homemade-style ices in bodegas and stores along the East Coast. This brand first came to Asen in need of a packaging design partner. Over a decade later, our big-picture partnership with the Mamita’s team has helped the brand achieve and exceed its evolving goals during rapid growth.

The Brief

Mamita’s Ices is a family business with roots in the Dominican Republic. With its commitments to family, quality, and tradition, the company grew an extremely loyal customer base in the New York and Jersey markets. After working with the Mamita’s team on new packaging designs, it became clear that they also needed help managing the brand’s rapid growth across the East Coast.

Juggling many vendors during this high-paced time made it difficult for the internal Mamita’s team to organize all assets and plan for the future. As a full-service partner, Asen stepped in with the organization and comprehensive planning needed to manage the growth proactively instead of reactively.

Asen became Mamita’s go-to marketing team, completing numerous projects across multiple channels: freezer wraps, labels, truck wraps, trade show booths, signage, and ad placements in their local arenas and print publications. The goal: show off the quality of the products and the many ways people enjoy them, often through eye-catching product and lifestyle photography.

Another important aspect of our partnership with Mamita’s is ensuring the brand stays modern and relevant, keeping the products top of mind with new and repeat customers. This called for a brand “refresh,” including an enhanced color palette, updated fonts and patterns, a new website design, and ongoing social media management.

Since our partnership began, social media has become a key marketing channel for Mamita’s, allowing the brand to connect directly with both loyal and new fans. By sharing custom, high-quality content and managing the brand's social media partnerships, Asen continues to help Mamita’s grow.
